Headstart into Healthcare - Online Resources
Headstart into Healthcare - Online Resources
Headstart into Healthcare brings together a number of online resources, designed to inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals. Funded by the Office for Students, these resources help inform young people from all backgrounds about careers and routes into Adult Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, and Cardiac Physiology, as well as other healthcare professions.
About the Resources
Activities and information has been curated for a wide range of audiences, including;
- Pupils in Year 5 and 6 at Primary School
- Pupils in Key Stages 3 and 4 at Secondary School
- Post-16 students at Sixth Form or College
- Parents, Carers and Key Workers supporting a young person
- NHS, Outreach and Widening Participation practitioners working for NHS Trusts, HEE, Universities and Colleges
Each activity includes the opportunity to view a Virtual Reality (VR) film, looking at a patient's experience of engaging with various healthcare professionals, where a patient with a long term condition is experiencing a number of symptoms that could be due to his long term condition or possibly something else. There will also be a number of further resources to view and download, depending on the age group you select. This includes short videos and activities for older age groups, and workbooks and colouring materials for younger children.
